Outback Thunda

Outback Thunda is big, he's bright, and to many this great Monster Truck is both brilliant and beautiful. He's a favorite with the children and adults alike, around the world. In 2002 after what was the only ever Monster Truck Freestyle Championship Challenge, Outback Thunda was crowned the Australian Monster Truck Champion, he again won in 2005 at Brisbane International Speedway, 2006 at the Brisbane Ekka grounds and again in 2007. Outback Thunda is a 7 1/2 tonne car-jumping, car crashing legend. Outback Thunda has appeared with distinction in every state in Australia and several East Coast USA States.
In the year 2000, Outback Thunda started his life as "Bronco Magic" and was at the time the official "Monster" for the Brisbane Bronco's NRL Team. After a year as "Bronco Magic" the owners decided to move away from the footy theme and gave the 3D truck a facelift and new image. Due to extensive overseas appearances it was decided to give Outback Thunda a distinctive Aussie name, hence this yellow and red Monster is now known throughout the World as Australia's "Monster of Destruction". Outback Thunda is powered by a modified 510 big block chev, producing over 1500 horse power and is supercharged and fuel injected. The entire truck weighs 7 1/2 tonne, which results in some serious impact when this monster hits the crush cars. Outback Thunda doesn't just devour cars, he loves destroying motor homes, buses, vans and boats.
Outback Thunda is 3.87 meters high and 3.8 meters wide which makes it rather difficult to transport him from show to show. The pit crew has to remove his big wheels after every show and replace with a smaller set so the low loader truck can achieve legal load size to drive on the road. It takes 2 men around 2 hours to change the wheels on Outback Thunda. Outback Thunda has a conventional steering wheel for the front wheels and a small toggle switch for the rear wheels making it a four-wheel drive and a four-wheel steer vehicle. If you watch you will regularly see the back wheels turn right or left to help this big monster negotiate turning maneuvers. Outback Thunda is valued at well over $250,000 with the motor costing aver $100,000 alone. The giant wheels are 66 inch's, that's about 2 meters high and unlike a normal car if Outback Thunda blows a tyre on a jaggered piece of crush car, he's up for $4,000 for a new tyre and "no we don't carry a spare". Make sure you don't miss meeting the Australia's Legend that is "Outback Thunda"
